Most people think that sleeping while wearing contact lenses is no big deal. In fact, some even believe that it protects their eyes from bacteria and germs. Well, they cannot be further away from the truth, as wearing contact lenses while sleeping actually increases the chances of your eyes catching harmful bacteria. It increases the risk of infection manifold, and can also harm your sensitive cornea, as the eyes do not get a chance to rest during sleep if you’re wearing contact lenses.
